How are you all doing?I hope you had a wonderful weekend, my weekend was filled with studying and more studying. Seriously, senior year is totally kicking my butt if I can say that. There is just so much to do and I feel like there is not enough time. But I know God will see me through this. On to this outfit, it's finally boots season and the weather in the DMV is so on to it, it's so cold nowadays and definitely no more open-toed shoes for me till next spring. I wore this outfit last Friday to school and then work after. This sweatshirt was the only clothing item I got from the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target Collection last month and I paired it with a studded faux leather skirt, added some tights and completed the outfit with a pair of boots. This is the way I still get to wear skirts and dresses during the cold season, I just pair it with tights and layer up...:)
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Style Me Friday: Plaids + Polka Dots...

How are you all doing? Can you believe another week is over again? The days are just flying by so fast. I am linking up with Eboni from The Fashionista Next Door for her weekly Style Me Friday challenge. This week's challenge was to style one of the biggest trends of the season: Plaids. Personally, I think Plaids are more of a classic print, they are just currently on the spotlight this season. For this challenge, I style a midi full plaid skirt with a simple polka dots shirt to play with the prints and mix it up. I completed the outfit with a statement black clutch and a pair of black pumps. I could have have paired the skirt with a black or white colored top but I wanted to try something different and mix the plaids with another prints. Plaids also go well with stripes and other prints, just make sure the colors are in the same color palette or in a neutral shade.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

My First Thrifting Experience + Tips...

 Happy Wednesday Lovelies!
I hope you all are having a nice week. I went thrifting for the first time 2 weeks ago and instead of a regular outfit post today, I thought I should share my experience plus some tips. As a fashionista who tries to limit her spending allowance on clothes and shoes, I became fascinated with the idea of thrifting and finding unique or vintage pieces for a very low price. I follow other fashion bloggers who often thrift and they find amazing pieces from Thrift stores. Once they style it, one would never have guessed the piece was from a Thrift store, you would think it was from a regular store at the mall.
During this last summer, I looked up several Thrifts stores around my area but I couldn't find one that was worth checking out until a fellow blogger, Naja Diamond posted a picture of her thrifted items with the location of the Thrift Store on Instagram. Guess What? It was a new store in my area, about 10 minutes away from my house. The next weekend I had off school and work, I drove up there just to check it out and I was surprised to see how organized the Thrift Store was, I immediately grabbed a cart and started browsing through the goodies. I ended up with some new pieces for a fraction of the price I would normally spend for an item at a regular store. I seriously cannot wait to style the amazing pieces I got...:)
 What I got:
 Blue Plaid Blazer (Kasper)
Classic Printed Vest (Tommy Hilfiger)
 Navy/Amy Green Plaid Skirt
Red High Waist Pants
3 Colored Pencil Skirts (Burgundy, Navy and Pink)
Total Spent: $26.14
My Personal Tips:
1. Research and read reviews of your local thrift stores. After getting the info for my local thrift store from Naja, I went to read the reviews online and I found out nothing but good reviews about the place.
2. Find a day that you are free and have plenty of time to really look for stuff at the store. Also go as early in the day as you can to get the first dibs.
3. Try to be patient and really go through the racks of clothes, you never know what treasure you will find hidden in those racks.
4. Disregard sizes and use your perception. If you think it will fit, put it in your cart. (for example, the Blue Plaid Blazer I got is a size 4 and I normally wear a size 8, but I love it so much that I couldn't pass on it. So I tried it on and luckily it fit me perfectly).
5. After picking out some stuff you like, go to the fitting rooms to try them on. This step is important because some stores do not accept returns, once you buy, it yours. So don't take it home and then see if it will fit, try it on at the store.
6. Make sure you do not leave you stuff lying around in the shopping cart, watch it at all times cos someone else may want a piece you have and since there is only a slight chance that the store would have 2 of the same item, some people may grab your pieces and pay for it.
7. While checking out, ask the cashier if they have any special discount or promotions going on. (My local one always have 50% off every Sundays and Mondays, so I plan on going there on those days to save more money).
8. Finally thrift stores are the perfect place to shop for trendy items without breaking the banks. My local one has lots of Plaids, Leather and Burgundy pieces and those are major trends for this season.
I hope the tips above help and feel free to share some of your own thrifting tips below...:)
Thank you so much for stopping by, check back to see how I style my thrifted pieces.
Enjoy the rest of your week!

Fall Colors...

Happy New Week!
Sweater: Forever 21 (similar HERE)
Jeans: H&M (similar HERE)
Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target
Necklace: H&M
Booties: Justfab "Karsey" (HERE)
Lipstick: MAC "Ruby Woo"
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I have good time with my bed...lol, did school work and spent the rest hanging out with my mom. I wore this outfit during the weekend to run errands and have dinner with my mom on Saturday. Burgundy and Mustard are 2 of my favorite colors for Fall. I paired this burgundy chunky cut-out shoulder sweater with a pair of embossed jeans. I accessorized with a pair of black booties and mustard colored bag from the 3.1 Phillip Lim Collection for Target.
I love this color combination together, what do you guys think?
These booties are part of the Paulina Rubio for Justfab Collection. I love that they are basic black booties but the all around gold zipper detail makes then sassy and edgy. They fit true to size and are very comfortable. They can definitely be styled in so many ways from casual to dressy and are the perfect booties for the fall season. Don't forget to sign up and check out Justfab for more booties and boots for Fall/Winter.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed week...:)
