I hope you had a lovely weekend, I sure did with my family and friends. I tried to squeeze in time between work for my sewing and I couldn't find the time but since I am off work today I will try to finish my first dress and maybe sew a pair of short for my upcoming family vacation. A couple of months ago, I discovered an Etsy store (THEAFRICANSHOP) that sells various styles of ankara pieces for affordable prices. I got a peplum skirt which I styled HERE and a set of Iro & Buba which I also wore HERE, I fell in love with the store and their amazing quality so it was definitely a pleasure collaborating with them for this post. One of the pieces that I fell in love with is the "Freeda" full midi skirt that is made from a mix of different ankara fabrics. As you can tell from the pictures, the skirt is like a piece of ankara art, the mixtures of ankara is impeccable and all the colors and prints just look so good together. Each "Freeda" skirt is uniqued made, therefore no one or two is exactly the same. It's very full with 2 side pockets and a lining inside for a voluminous look plus the construction is absolutely fantastic. Although it takes about 1-2 weeks to construct the piece after placing an order and about another 1-2 weeks for the item to ship but it's so worth the wait.  This skirt is definitely one of my favorite ankara piece that I own in my closet till date. For church last Sunday, I went simple with my styling and paired it with a white top and multicolored statement necklace. I completed the look with a bold red lips, black clutch and my bow pumps. This skirt is also versatile and can be styled in so many ways, I can see myself paring it with a chambray (denim) shirt and a pair of booties in the fall...:)
Here is a couple of pieces I am loving from THEAFRICANSHOP and they are currently having up to 40% of some items, so don't forget to check out the shop for more amazing pieces.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!
