Happy New Month Lovelies!
Ankara/Lace Dress (I made)
Justfab Sandals (super old)
Lime Crime "Utopia' Lipstick
How are you all doing? I hope you are having a great week so far. I went to a Nigerian traditional wedding 2 weekends ago and I made this dress using the "aso-ebi" (fabric chosen for the family and friends) fabric. I really like the outcome, what do you guys think? For those that sew, I have a pattern review below...:)
Pattern Review: McCalls 6893
Pattern Description: Lined dresses have close-fitting, boned bodice with princess seams, with or without shoulder straps, overlay variations, waistband, semi-fitted, straight skirt (flounce), gathered short (ruffle) or long skirt, and invisible back zipper.
Pattern Sizing: It came in a size (8-14) I cut a size 14 based on the finished garment measurement and it fits perfectly.
Fabric Used: Aso-ebi Ankara Fabric & Blue Lace Fabric I got in New York last fall.
Did it look like the photo on the pattern envelope once you are done sewing with it? Somewhat.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes the instructions were pretty easy to follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love that you can mix and match the pattern pieces to create your own designs.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made? I made view D but instead of the short ruffle/peplum hem, I cut 2 yard of fabric and then cut it into 2 in the middle. I joined the side seams together and gathered the top part before attaching it to the hem of the straight skirt.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!
