Happy New Week Lovelies!
How are you all doing? I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. A couple of weeks ago, Shundra of MrsCraftyChick contacted me about participating in a new series titled "Build Your Wardrobe" with 4 other sewing bloggers. As a newbie sewist, it was absolutely an honor to be asked to participate in the series. Basically, for 6 weeks 6 bloggers will create and/or style a must-have piece in any woman's wardrobe. The pieces are essentials that can be mixed and match with other pieces in your wardrobe.
This week, I am the lead blogger and my piece is the Print Skirt. How perfect right? Since I am in love with bold colors and prints, it definitely fits my personal style. The print skirt is such a must-have in your wardrobe to add a fun and bold element especially on days you are not in the mood for solids. I decided to make the print skirt in a full midi style because everyone need a fun, lady-like and versatile piece in their wardrobes. I made the skirt using Simplicity Pattern 1099 and a 100% wax cotton fabric from an old Voila for You collection by Vlisco. Check out how I transitioned the print skirt from day to night below.
P.S. I will have a separate post for the pattern review and outfit details so check back soon.
For the day look, I simply paired the printed full midi skirt with a graphic t-shirt and completed the look with a pair of printed sneakers.
For the night look, I paired the printed full skirt with a lace off-shoulder bodysuit and a pair of green pumps to match the color of the prints. I accesorized with a statement necklace and a box clutch.
