My DIY: Christmas Lace Jumpsuit + Vogue 9160 Pattern Review.

Happy New Week Lovelies!

Lace & Satin Jumpsuit (I made)
Pattern: Vogue 9160
Fabric: Satin from Joann's (HERE) &
        Guipure Lace from Nigeria
Christian Louboutin 100mm Pigalle Pumps (HERE)
MAC "Von Teese" Red Lipstick (HERE)
How are you all doing? I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I sure did celebrating at church and then with family and friends. Can you believe it's the last week in year 2015? Seriously where did the year go? I feel like it just flew by so fast but I am definitely excited for what's to come in 2016.
Anyways, today's post features this diy jumpsuit I wore for Christmas. I literally started making it around 12noon on Christmas eve and finished it at 9pm that same day. I decided to make a jumpsuit instead of a dress like I did last year (see the dress HERE). I made the jumpsuit in a yummy guipure lace fabric that my mom got me from Nigeria and a red satin. I really like the combination of the black lace and red satin, it's such an unexpected fabric combination. I kept the styling of the jumpsuit simple by pairing it with my black louboutins and a bold red lips.
P.S: I finally did my hair for the first time in 6 months since I big chopped, I went with a protective style called crochet braids using this pre-twisted braids HERE, what do you guys think? I am really loving it...:)
Pattern Review: Vogue 9160
Pattern Description: Lined jumpsuit or romper has shoulder pads, fitted bodice, French seams, straight-legged or tapered pants (semi-fitted through hips), side pockets and invisible back zipper.
Pattern Sizing: It came in a size 12-20 and I cut a size 14.
Fabric Used: Casa Collection Satin from Joann's HERE and Black Guipure Lace from Nigeria.
Did it look like the photo on the pattern envelope once you are done sewing with it? Not really since I cut view C and used different fabrics.
Were the instructions easy to follow? It looked easy when I read through it but I didn't follow it. I just sewed the jumpsuit my own way because I added lace to the bodice part.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I really like it but I wish the pants legs were more tapered.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made? I didn't line the pants like the instructions advised, I only lined the bodice part. I also tried blind hemming the pants hem and I love the results.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I doubt I will make it again because I still have a few jumpsuit patterns in my stash but I will definitely recommend if you want to make a nice evening jumpsuit.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed day!
