How are you all doing? I hope you all had a nice weekend. My weekend actually started off with some good news (I promise I will share the deets later once it's all sorted out) so I was basically on cloud 9 all weekend. I wanted to do some sewing but I was too lazy to get some done...ha ha, I seriously need to find my sewing mojo back. Anyways on to today's DIY outfit, anytime I need to make something quick I instantly gravitate towards making an iro and buba (blouse and wrapper) because it's super quick to make. One of my goals this year to reduce my fabric stash and avoid buying any more new fabrics. I made it with this beautiful printed purple silk fabric that has been in my stash for almost 2 years, my mom got it for me from Nigeria. For our annual 1st Sunday of the year Thanksgiving service I made this iro and buba and decided to rock it with an aso-oke gele (head-tie). I absolutely love the result of this DIY outfit, it's definitely a modern take on a traditional Nigerian outfit. What do you guys think of this look?
P.S: For my fellow sewists, this outfit is self-drafted so I didn't use any patterns to cut the fabric.
Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!
