 Happy New Week Lovelies!

 Floral Print Dress (I made)
Forever 21 Sunglasses (old)
Justfab "Lores" Pointed Toe Flats
NYX "Paris" Soft Matte Lip Cream (HERE)
How are you all doing? I am back! I feel like it's been forever since I posted on my blog, I just had to take a break while on vacation. But I am finally back from my 2 weeks solo vacation to London & Paris. It was such an amazing trip and I had the best time ever, that I can't wait to go back to those 2 cities again. So the blog posts for the next month or so will be my vacation style posts, diy posts and travel diaries.
Today's post is the first of many vacation style posts. I made this simple floral print dress since it's so perfect for the spring/summer season. I wore the dress to attend church and then a barbecue afterwards. I paired the dress with a simple black flats and a pair of matching sunglasses. These pictures were shot in Thamesmaed, London by a beautiful lakeside. Please stay tuned for more of my vacation style...:)
For those that sew, I have a pattern review below!
Pattern Review: Butterick 6318
Pattern Description: Dress has semi-fitted bodice, short dolman sleeves, wide single-layer tie ends (wrong side shows), narrow hem, full gathered skirt and back zipper.
Pattern Sizing: It came in a size 6-14 and I cut a size 14
Fabric Used: Floral Print Poplin from Fashion Fabrics Club
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, super easy
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the gathered skirt and tie belts at the waist. I also like it's really easy to make since there is no lining just facings to finish the neckline.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made? Only alterations I made was to shorten the bodice by about 3 inches and the tie belt by 1 inch to fit my short torso.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes & Yes, it's such a simple dress to make.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed day!

  2. Love this dress! You've got a great eye for fabric choices. I am thinking on making this dress in a maxi version with long sleeves. What do you think? Do you think it will look nice?

    1. I love the maxi version idea but I don't know about the long sleeves idea, I feel like it would be too much having your all body covered up. So I think you should do the maxi version but with short sleeves.

  3. Looks like you had a great vacation, based on your instagram pictures. I'd love to visit Paris and London one these days. Cute dress, such a pretty print, perfect for church and a barbecue. It's so cool how quickly you learnt how to sew for yourself.
