How are you all doing? I am doing great but absolutely exhausted, being a grad student is definitely not a joke. I completed my 2nd week of SOP and my 1st week of classes today. Thank God for small mercies like weekends cos I really need to catch up on some sleep over the weekend. I mentioned in my last post that I would not be blogging as consistent as I used to before, I will try to get 1 blog post up per week but please bare with me if school gets too hectic and I forget to post in some occasions.
Today's post features another DIY piece: a pair of floral printed culottes I made for my vacation. I styled it with another printed piece (a fun top from the Marimekko for Target collaboration) for a nice prints mixture and completed the look with a tote bag and my bow flats. I wore this outfit to see the stunning Buckingham Palace while in London. A funny thing that happened after taking these pictures was the fact that it started raining heavily afterwards, literally pouring buckets of water. So glad I carried a umbrella and extra flats or I would have been socked and maybe would have ruined one of my favorite flats. As much as I loved my time in London, I was not a big fan of their bipolar weather...lol
For those that sew, I have a pattern review below...:)
Pattern Review: Butterick 6178
Pattern Description: Culottes have waistband, side pockets, back zipper, and pleat variations.
Pattern Sizing: It came in a size 6-14 and I cut a size 14
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes super easy
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love that it offeres different variaitions of the culottes style.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made? None
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and Yes, I love the style.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!
