Zara Metallic Silver Pumps (old, similar HERE)
MAC "High Heels" Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick (HERE)
How are you all doing? Welcome to year 2017! I am always excited for a new year because it signifies a fresh start, a time to let go of old things and start new ones. I am not really into new year's resolutions but I do set and write down goals for myself at the beginning of every new year. And one of my goals this year is definitely keep improving when it comes to my sewing. Today's post features a cheetah print metallic dress with twist front detail. It was one of the most challenging item I have ever made but I didn't scrap it even after I made so many mistakes in the process. I didn't give up on the dress and I really loved the way it tuned out. What better way to start a new year than in a statement dress like this, I kept the styling simple and paired it with metallic silver pumps. Unfortunately my winter break is over and I am going back to school today so it's going to be back to posting only once a week. But don't worry I have a couple of DIY pieces that I will be sharing with you all in the next coming weeks, so stay tuned!
P.S: For those that sew, I have a review for this pattern below...:)
Pattern Review: McCalls 7429
Pattern Description: Close-fitting pullover dress has front twist detail at waist and neckline variations
Pattern Sizing: It came in a size 6-14 and I cut a size 14 which fits perfectly.
Fabric Used: Black/Silver Cheetah Double Knit (similar HERE)
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were definitely not the easiest, I got really confused at the twist front part. I had to use this video HERE from Brittany J. Jones to help understand the instructions.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I really love the twist front detail.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made? None.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and Yes! I wanna make it in a solid color as well.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!
