How are you all doing? I am doing great, actually just got back from my Black Friday shopping. I am one of those that detest going to the malls for shopping on Black Friday. It's always too crowded, no parking and can be quite overwhelming. But I had to go to the fabric store cos I needed some interfacing, even that was kinda chaotic but I am glad I made it. That's the only physical store I went to, I did the rest of my shopping online which I think is the best. Funny enough, I did not shop for clothes, rather I got fabrics and lots of pdf sewing patterns that have been on my sewing wishlist. How times have changed from shopping for clothes and shoes on Black Friday to just getting sewing supplies, I am just so blessed to have such an amazing hobby like sewing.
Anyways, today's features a pair of pants that I have been wanting to make ever since the pattern came out. I finally got around to sewing it last week. I made it in a neutral colored fabric that I know will be very versatile and easy to style. For this look, I paired the pants with a white graphic sweater and one of my favorite winter jacket - a sleeveless camel coat. I completed the look by adding pops of red with my pumps and lipstick.
P.S: For those that sew, I have a pattern review below...)
Pattern Review: Simplicity 8389
Pattern Description: pattern includes long pants with a wide or narrow leg, a cropped wide leg pant, and shorts. All views have an elasticized waistband ending at the hip bone and finished off with a flat panel at front where you can add your choice of drawstring cord, tassels or a fabric-tie belt
Pattern Sizing: It came in a size 6-14 and I cut a size 14.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, super easy to follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love everything about the pattern from the loose fit to the waist tie belt.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made? None, that's one of the reason I love the pattern. It's so easy to sew straight out of the envelope with no alterations.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes & Yes, I plan on making a black pair. I would definitely recommend if if you are looking for a simple pants pattern to fit and sew.
Even my bloated tummy can't stop me from enjoying a little fun with the fall leaves...:) Shout out to Sadiq for the idea and capturing this shot even though it took us numerous trials.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
