I use a Brother XR1355 Computerized Sewing machine that I got for about $140 at Costso but it's on amazon HERE. I cut my pieces using sewing patterns like McCallsVogueButterick and Newlook. I just cut my size based on my measurements and follow the instruction that comes with the pattern.

Do you make clothes for others?
At the moment I don't sew for other people since I am still learning myself. But once I feel more confident in my abilities, then of course I would consider sewing for other people.
